Ubud - Centre of Culture

Ubud is the center of 'cultural tourism' in Bali --Art, craft, music and dance.  You will be able to see the famous traditional dances of Ketchak, Barong, Le Gong.   There are also numerous temples, ancient sites and craft centre. 

All this is set in the unspoiled surrounding countryside.  Rice fields and valley jungle growth offer delightful possibilities for walking, or cycling and silence, writing, painting or photography. 

Tulumben - A Dance of Fish

Tulumben on Bali's north-east coast has the shipwreck Liberty submerged in the warm tropical water by the coast.  It is now ecrusted with coral and has become a haven for thousands of colourful fish.  It will be a relaxing place to snorkel and enjoy the coast. 

Tanah Lot is a temple perched on a little rocky islet, with crashing seas.  A spectacular setting, especially at dawn or sunset.

Gunung Batur--awe-inspiring landscapes with a vast crater, crater lake, volcanic cones, solidified lava floor and smoking volcanoes.  An early morning walk up the crater, sunrise near the belching live volcano and a walk down in the heat otf the morning is an option.
