Galiano Island in the Canadian Gulf Islandsis a 50 minute cruise by ferry from the Vancouver terminal (at Tsawwassen).  It can also be reached from the terminal at Swartz Bay 30 km (20 miles) north of Victoria on Vancouver Island.

Coming from the States?The Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal is only a 2-and-a-half hour drive from Seattle.  Once you are over the border take the Highway 10 exit and follow signs to the ferries.

A scenic alternative route is to travel by ferry to Vancouver Island either from Anacortes to Sidney or from Port Angeles to downtown Victoria. (See map.)

When you reach Galiano drive 12km (8 mi.) north from the ferry on Porlier Pass Road.  (Take the right fork in front of the pub 3 km (2 mi.) from the ferry.) 

At 12 km (8mi.) there are signposts for Pottery, and Galleries. where you turn left into Ganner Drive. Note: If you see the sign for Gulf islands Film and Telivision School you have gone 300 metres (200yards) too far!) In Ganner Drive bear left at the fork and continue on 3/4 km (1/2 mi.) to the small sign post at the end of the road.  Turn right.  Then drive 100 metres (yards) and take the driveway forking to the left by a second 'Serenity by the Sea' sign.

NOTE: We have a 'Dear' gate to keep the deer out of our gardens. Simply push the gate open to drive through. Please close the gate behind you.

Please park in the parking lot at the bottom by the creek. Park to the side if possible, as other vehicles may be arriving behind you.  To be shown your room, walk follow the brick path toward the ocean to the main entrance.

Arriving at night? If you are arriving by night use your high beams and watch for 3 red reflectors one above the other on the telephone pole at the turnoff into Ganner Drives and before each turn mentioned above after turning into Ganner Drive.

USING THE FERRIES (Click on logo at left for schedule information) We recommend reservations if you are coming from Vancouver on a Friday or Saturday, especially on holidays weekends or weekends during peak summer months. Reservations are not available from Victoria.
