A winter retreat at Serenity is rich with vibrant treasures of Nature.

From fall through spring, our stream comes alive with myriad waterfalls and cascades, each with its own voice. Sunny days positively sparkle and our southwestern exposure doubles the sunlight and warmth across the ocean. On wet days in the winter, rain sketches many moods across the surface of the ocean. The sky has a thousand different tones and shapes, changing many times throughout the day. In the cold it is perfect to cozy up to our woodstoves, and read or write while the elements whirl outside. Windstorms are wonderfully invigorating, if you are lucky enough to be here when one rolls across the islands. The trees dance and sway on all sides. The ocean comes alive. Your room becomes a haven cheered by the fire in your woodstove. And there is no more exhilerating time in the tub than sitting with your body warm and sheltered in its enveloping warmth, while the cool wind and spray blows around your head and the waves surge against the cliff and rocks below you.
